This chestnut wood table is over 50 years old.
To update it I have painted it in burgundy red and decorated it with a Mandala in several colors. The paints used are acrylic, of good quality and long lasting. The table has several layers of clear and polished varnish with wax.
The brazier is the original. Formerly these tables, called, stretcher tables, were used to heat the atmosphere of a house. The hot red coals were put in the brazier. After the table it was covered with a very thick and heat resistant tablecloth. Thus the heat endured hours and hours.
Right now such a table is perfect in any house or flat. You can put it in a living room next to a sofa or an armchair. Between two seats. On a terrace or a hall.
This item is very well packed and protected.
